Manawatū Cricket Association

Board Members

Carla na Nagara

Carla joined the board in 2016 but always had strong links to MCA through her sons, who have represented Manawatū from age group cricket right up to senior mens. She has also contributed to the MCA as a scorer and manager over the years. In 2018 Carla took over as Chairperson of the board and stayed in this role for 5 years until 2023. Carla currently holds the position of President of the MCA after taking over from Murray Brown at the 2023 AGM.

Derek Dilks

Derek joined the MCA Board in 2006 and has had a long involvement with cricket in the region. An accountant by trade, Derek leads the board on the financials and provides plenty of support for the MCA Operations Manager.

Paul Gibbs

Paul joined the MCA Board in 2006 after a long association with cricket in the district as a club and rep player, and recently through his links with PNBHS. Paul played for a number of years with Palmerston Cricket Club before becoming a player coach for PNBHS, where he still regularly dons the whites in the 4th XI.

Bevan Catley
Bevan joined the MCA board in 2022. An avid cricket fan involved in twilight and premier cricket in Manawatu, Bevan's daughter is also a part of our MCA Girls Club. Bevan's board experience over the years is an excellent addition to the current board.

Rachel Wenham

Rachel joined the MCA Board in 2016 for the first time. However, this was not her first time in cricket management, having been a member of the Women's Cricket Committee previously. Rachel played cricket to a high standard representing Manawatu and Central Districts on many occasions. She still has strong links to the association with her three children representing the MCA through the age-grade rep teams.

Jamie How

Jamie was the third member of the current Board to join in 2016. As most will know, Jamie had a distinguished cricketing career with Manawatu, Central Districts and the Blackcaps. His playing knowledge is second to none, and that experience on the Board is used to good effect when setting up our playing and training programmes. Jamie is still involved with cricket through the Marist Cricket Club.

Katrina Barber

Katrina has been on the board for 2 years and is an awesome leader and supporter of MCA. Katrina works as a crown prosecutor and is also a fantastic team manager.
