Women’s Club Cricket - Going to the Clubs
The Manawatu Cricket Association are proud to announce that there will be club cricket for women within the club system.
We have done the work to build numbers and no doubt more will come, but we have reached a point where clubs can take over the running of individual teams. This is a significant step for the MCA in finishing the full female pathway, the Manawatu hasn’t had women’s club cricket for some time, and we are looking forward to seeing the competition up and running again.
It will help to diversify our club structure and provide both a sense of belonging and the building of new relationships within our community.
The MCA will not have the numbers to be able to offer all clubs the opportunity to have a team, instead, clubs will need to bid to have a team and provide information on how they intend to support female teams within their club, and what provisions will be made available to support the on-going success of the female pathway.
